| The son of a pastor, Allmenröder
studied medicine before the war. He served with
a field artillery regiment before joining the
Air Service with his brother Willi in 1916. Allmenröder
honed his skills as a combat pilot under Manfred
von Richthofen in Jasta 11. On 26 June 1917,
he scored his 30th victory, downing a Sopwith
Triplane flown by Canadian ace Gerald Nash. |
