Painting Depicting Billy Bishop in His Nieuport 17
Painting Depicting Billy Bishop in His Nieuport 17

This painting depicts Canadian ace Wiliam "Billy" Bishop in his Nieuport 17 shooting down a Rumpler C reconnaissance aircraft flown by Otto Roosen. Otto survived the encounter and after WWII emigrated to Ontario. The Museum has many such paintings on display depicting actual events of the first air war.
